- BATTERIES
-
- Every hearing
instrument runs on a battery; be sure you use the correct size
and cell for your type of instrument.
-
- If you're not
sure, check the battery that is in it now, check your instruments
manual, or ask your hearing professional.
-
- Batteries vary
in size and performance.
-
- Your hearing
professional is your best source for questions about lifespan
and verification that you're using the proper size and type if
problems exist.
-
- Just as when
you're cleaning your instrument, it's helpful to replace batteries
while working over a towel laid on a table or desk to reduce
the risk of damage should you drop anything.
-
- To replace the
battery, open the compartment door by placing your fingernail
under the non-hinged edge; gently pull outward. Be careful not
to open the door too far.
-
- Remove the old
battery by either pushing it out the top or pulling it straight
out.
-
- Place the new
battery in the compartment with the plus (+) sign facing the
same direction as the plus (+) sign on the door.
-
- Close the battery
compartment door until it snaps securely. Never force the door
shut-it could damage the unit. If the door won't close securely,
check that the battery is properly seated in the compartment.
-
- A FEW CAUTIONAY
NOTES:
-
- Batteries are
dangerous if swallowed. Keep them well away from children or
pets.
-
- Dispose of spent
cells immediately in the proper waste or recycling container.
-
- Always check
your medications before ingesting-batteries have been mistaken
for tablets.
